Vaughn Catuzzi Lohec - You Can Do It!
"Get busy living or get busy dying!" This quote from the 1994 movie, Shawshank Redemption was a favorite of Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas. It was one that resonated well with her family as they, later, sought to "get busy" with the business of living while recovering from losing her.
Vaughn Catuzzi Lohec shared this and more with the ladies of WOVI-Frisco as she recounted the story of her sister, Lauren, heroine of the September 11th United Flight 93.
Warm, genuine and at times downright funny ("I know how to fill up a room, I brought my posse with me," she laughs, referencing 3 friends at her table who are attending the event to support her), Vaughn painted an intimate picture of Lauren that was both poignant and inspiring.
Through her words and, in a quick look through the pages of You Can Do it!, the audience saw in Lauren, a funny, fearless, you-can-do-it, kind of gal!
At the end of the evening, Vaughn gifted each member of the audience with a copy of Lauren's book, You Can Do It - The Merit Badge for Grown-up Girls. The book is on sale online and at bookstores everywhere. A portion of the proceeds go to the Lauren Catuzzi Grandcolas Foundation, which supports charitable causes and scholarships for women.
